Cancer Detection Program

Project Summary

NCHS participates in the State funded "Cancer Detection Program." As part of this program, NCHS offers regular monthly breast cancer screening clinics at most of our health center sites. Women may schedule appointments or walk-in for clinical breast exams on the designated clinic day at their center. Contact your nearest health center for information on the clinical breast exam clinic days.

At our Oceanside Health Center, we offer mammography services in conjunction with the clinical breast exam. Women can be scheduled for a mammography the same day with the on-site mobile mammography unit. These services at our Oceanside Health Center take place the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Please contact the Oceanside Health Center at (760) 757-4566 to schedule an appointment.

Target Audience

Women 40 years of age or older, who do not have medical insurance and are considered low-income
