Internal Medicine
Internists at North County Health Services are Board-certified or Board-eligible, primary care physicians who provide long-term, comprehensive care and manage common and complex illnesses affecting adolescents, adults and the elderly. We treat both routine and chronic medical problems and also diagnose and treat new medical problems. In addition, we promote good health by teaching patients about wellness. For example, our internists discuss preventive approaches such as why it is important to exercise, eat a healthy diet and not smoke. Our primary care physicians provide information about mental health, substance abuse, and women’s and men’s health. They also address common problems of the eyes, ears, skin, nervous system and reproductive organs.
Internists with North County Health Services are partners with other hospital physicians at local hospitals to ensure you get the primary care you need even when hospitalized. They work hand-in-hand with the hospitals while you are hospitalized, and when you are discharged, details of your internal medicine treatment become part of your North County Health Services electronic health record (EHR) to assure continuity of care from the hospital to the health center.
