Maria Gabriela Sebiane, MD, FAAP Pediatrics
"Patient education is extremely important. As a physician, I must communicate in a language and style my patients can understand."
Maria Gabriela Sebiane MD, was born in San Jose, Costa Rica and later came to the United States with her parents. Her parents wanted their children to have a good education. Dr. Sebiane, a board-certified pediatrician began practicing medicine in 1989 after she graduated from the University of California San Diego (UCSD) School of Medicine. She completed her internship at UC Irvine and in mid-year 2000 joined North County Health Services at San Marcos Health Center.
She is proud to be a pediatrician. She believes that children's doctors are unique because they must engage not only the child they are consulting but the child's parents too. She is a strong advocate for patient education because it permits the patient to build a trusting relationship with their physician. The patient must be able to understand the physician's message, communication style and language in order to practice good health as prescribed by the doctor.
Dr. Sebiane joined North County Health Services because of the organization's long history and commitment to serve communities healthcare needs.
Maria Gabriela Sebiane, M.D. has been in San Diego County since 1979 and spends her leisure time enjoying photography, sewing and traveling. She speaks English and Spanish fluently.
