The certified nurse midwives at North County Health Services ushered me through both of my pregnancies with amazing care. Through their care I was helped to revere the process of pregnancy and birth rather than fear it. The midwives took time to explain the changes my body was going through so that I learned what to expect. They educated me about the many alternatives I had regarding the birth, and supported MY choices about my body and my baby's birth. I learned how to work with my body during birth rather than having it become a medical event controlled by medical personnel and medical interventions. Rather than becoming an experience to be managed and controlled with technology, I was assisted to experience an amazing process that women's bodies have been performing for millennia. The personalized care I received was more incredible than I could have ever imagined and made two of the most important days of my life truly wonderful and joyous.
