Walt Steffen, MSW, LCSW

Walt is our longest serving Board member, having been one of the founders of the organization in 1971. Since that time, Walt says he has seen many changes in the organization because of the many changes in the healthcare industry.
Now retired, Walt worked for the County of San Diego as a board certified LCSW and had over 25 years in the Clinical Social Work field in both private and public positions. Walt truly epitomizes what is the heart of North County Health Services: loyalty, compassion and hard work. “I have watched this organization change and grow to keep up with the times, but its mission was always a constant and its staff and volunteers have always been faithful to the mission.”
