Phyliss Strain
D.D.S.
"Every child deserves to have a happy, healthy smile. Oral health cannot be separated from overall health."
Dr. Phyliss Strain began practicing dentistry in 1983 and joined North County Health Services in the beginning of the New Year of the new millennium. She graduated from the University of Iowa Dental College, and completed a general residency program at the VA Hospital in La Jolla. She is a member of the San Diego Dental Society, California Dental Association and the American Dental Association.
She enjoys working in a community center environment and appreciates the chance to make a difference in the well being of her patients, especially the children. "It is incredibly rewarding to provide the education and care to patients to restore their oral health and give them back their smiles. There are children who do not know teeth are not supposed to hurt. It is such a good feeling to be able to turn that around."
Dr. Strain lives in Escondido with her husband and three children. She speaks English and "dental" Spanish and has a long association with the Escondido Community Health Center and the San Diego Children's Dental Health Center as a dental provider. She also volunteers her time for local school screenings and sealant clinics. She takes time out of her busy schedule to enjoy her hobbies: being a "soccer" mom, reading, hiking, and origami.
