Marie "Mimi" Mateo

Mimi Mateo graduated from Yale University with a Masters degree, specializing in midwifery in 1989. Originally from Canada, she has an undergraduate degree from McGill University in psychology. As a mother of three, she knows pregnancy, birth and parenting offer tremendous opportunities for personal discovery and growth. Women and their families deserve respect and support as they journey through this period of their lives.
She has completed further training as a Birthing from Within mentor and in Centering Pregnancy models of care. In 2007 she became certified as a diabetic educator and is the lead midwife in the Gestational Diabetes program. Her work in diabetes is especially rewarding as she witnesses women making lifestyle changes that will impact both their own and their families’ long term health.
